Dr. Dean Venables (Project Co-Lead)
Centre for Research into Atmospheric Chemistry, School of Chemistry and Environmental Research Institute, University College Cork
Dean is an atmospheric chemist whose research interests include air quality, low cost sensors, and developing spectroscopic instruments to detect trace gases and aerosols. He loves clean air and wants to contribute to improving air quality in Ireland and around the world.
Dean is leading the development of air quality forecasts and analysis of air quality interventions.
Dr. Kevin Ryan (Societal Impact Champion)
Executive Scientist, Air Quality Unity, Environment Section, Cork City Council
Denise Cahill (Key project partner), Cork Healthy Cities Coordinator
Denise is very committed to practice based research. As a Health Promotion practitioner Denise has a particular interest in behaviour change and the circumstances and prompts that nudge individuals and systems to change. Through her role as Healthy Cities Coordinator, Denise engages with many partners in experimental approaches to promote health in an urban setting. That is why Denise is so enthusiastic to collaborate with research experts as the research arises from a structured academic process and the outcome is shared with a wider community thus having a greater impact.
In BehaviAir, Denise supports the interagency collaboration, to connect the researchers with the communities of interest, to seek opportunities to connect the research to health outcomes and to advise on effective good practice health promotion approaches to behaviour change
